Behold, the glory that is the furry legwarmer! Modeled by T., upon whom they were bestowed as a birthday gift. They were my first pair of legwarmers, and I made up the pattern as I went, adding the stirrups on at the end. I'm rawther pleased with them, if I do say so m'self.

Get out your harmonica, it's time to celebrate Chanukah... Another buttonhole scarf down, and halfway home on Knitty's Coronet.  Brunch near Union Square tomorrow, so I gotta stop by the new store in town, Knit NY, for another couple of skeins of Cashmerino Aran for hats, and maybe some Manos to make a poncho for me. Chag sam'each on the first of the 8 crazy nights...

Another scarf complete!  This time I used the ChicKnits Buttonhole Scarf pattern, & couldn't be happier with how it turned out - - I'm 1/3 through the second one already, and will try to squeeze in one more before we leave for OH.  This is my first time knitting with Lion Brand Chenille & I wasn't sure how it'd work out, but I like it fine, just fine.  Who knew?

Still working out the kinks in my layout - trying to figure out how to customize the 'links' column is making me NUTSO. How do people do this? Working on this on an iMac running OS9 doesn't help, either. Boo hoo.

Dang it, my baby has a fever again - - came home from work early yesterday & stayed home today to keep him breastfed & happy. While he napped, I finished the Koigu Cozy and the Sister scarf which I'm calling Blue Cheer.  My first time using Paton's Divine, andI ended up really loving it - - it's got a much nicer drape than I thought it would, so I might end up doing another for myself. Started the cable band for a Coronet hat for Dad, and am hoping against hope that the backordered yarn for my mother's Chanukah scarf comes by next week, or she's getting a picture of a scarf instead. Hope to have the photo thing in hand by the weekend, if anyone's interested.

A NY/NJ knitter takes the blogging plunge... Snowed in for most of the weekend, a bummer because we were all jazzed to see the Tin Huey/Robyn Hitchcock show at Maxwell's in Hoboken. Still, made lots of knitting progress on GM's Koigu Neck Cozy, frogged & wound a Goodwill sweater (sized maternity L - - plenty of gorgeous yarn for a project or 2), and started a birthday scarf (Paton's Divine in Denim Storm) for Sister A, which I'm thinking about re-doing after seeing the fab 4-legged Embrace in the new Knitty. Am starting to freak a little, as I wait for yarn orders to arrive so I can get started already on the scarves for DH's family. At least we're driving to Ohio for the holidays, so I can count on at least a few hours of last-minute knitting in the car. The Chanukah hats/scarves, of course, have to be done much sooner. My poor, poor neglected Bucket O' Chic, Fuzzy Feet, and Bright Autumn will have to wait until after the holidays after all, when I have time again to knit for me, dammit. Though I might bring them along to keep me busy on the car ride back. Pix, progress reports and patterns all to come soon soon soon.
